Leg Injury

Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft tissue therapy stands out as an independent and effective discipline for injury treatment and pain management. Soft tissue therapy involves a thorough process of injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. It is crucial to recognise that while there may be shared techniques with other therapeutic disciplines, soft tissue therapy is a unique field with its primary focus on hands-on manual therapy, often complemented by remedial exercises.

Acupuncture close up

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a modern therapeutic technique that involves the insertion of an acupuncture needle into the muscles to relieve pain and improve range of motion and function. This technique, also known as Intra Muscular Stimulation (IMS) or Trigger Point Dry Needling, involves the use of a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying muscular trigger points, tendons, and ligaments. Electro Dry Needling is a technique that combines the use of an acupuncture needle with an electrical current. Both of these techniques are used to reduce muscular pain, improve range of motion and function.

kinesiology taping

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping is a revolutionary form of injury and pain treatment that uses a stretchy, breathable tape. Often seen in sports, it is not exclusive to sports people, and anyone can benefit from its restorative powers. The tape has a decompressive effect, lifting the skin and underlying soft tissues to reduce pain and inflammation. The tape is also water proof and can last up to 7 days on the skin, and can be used to adjust posture and gait based on the needs of the client.
